His paintings have been entered in many national and regional juried exhibitions over the years and have received more than forty awards. He exhibits regularly at the Salmagundi Club in NYC and in the annual juried exhibitions of many other professional art organizations throughout the country. He works primarily in oil and prefers landscapes done on location.
His paintings hang in corporate, public and private collections in thirty five states and throughout Canada, as well as in Europe, South America and Australia. He paints and exhibits with The All Weather Gang, a group of outdoor painters from the western NY region. He operated a summer gallery in the 1980's and 90's in the Rocky Neck Art Colony, Gloucester, MA. He is represented by the G. C. Lucas Gallery, Indianapolis, IN, and the Union Gallery, Lambertville, NJ. His paintings have
appeared in American Artist Magazine on several
occasions. In January 1992, in the article, "A
Conversation With Don Grieger" by Charles Movalli,
and in the November 1994 issue a painting trip taken
aboard a canal boat was covered in the article
"Fifty Miles on the Erie Canal." In the March
1999 issue he was featured in the article "The
